A CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS OF TWO TEXTS: IMPLICATIONS FOR GRAMMAR IN DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyze two British newspaper articles through the lens of Systemic Functional Grammar. It starts with a review of this approach and its contrast with traditional grammar. After the analysis, conclusions and recommendations are made on what scale this can be applied.
