Connotation, characteristics and methods of Teaching Chinese as a second language

Abstract

【Summary】Second language teaching and first language teaching are two different kind of language teaching. Therefore, there should be a big difference between teaching Chinese as a second language and teaching Chinese as a first language. Most foreigners learn Chinese in order to be able to communicate with Chinese people, it is a tool to exchange information. On the other hand, the purpose for Chinese people to learn Chinese is that they reveal the soul of the nation from the history of five thousand years of Chinese civilization. As a second language teaching, Chinese has its specific content and teaching methods. In this report, the author will make a deep analysis of the important characteristics of teaching Chinese as a second language and determine the focus of teaching content, teaching procedures and methods.
