Abstract

Europium ion doped BaMgAl10O17 blue phosphors have been prepared by ureanitratesolution combustion synthesis at 590 0C for 5 minutes. The experimental results ofXRD, SEM and photoluminescent spectra showed that the phosphors had hexagonal singlephase structure, the average particle size of the powders was about 50 nm and the emissionspectra was a broad band with maximum intensity at the wavelength λmax = 455 nm due totransitions from 4f65d1 to the 4f7 electronic configuration of Eu2+ ion.
