METHODS DETERMINATION OF METHANE EMISSIONS IN RICE FIELD BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY (GC)

ABSTRACT

A simple, rapid, accurate and sensitive method using GC–FID for the determination of metan emission in rice field.The chromatographic separation was achieved on an Porapak Q, (4m x 2 mm ID glass, 80/100 mesh; Supelco ) column using nitrogen as mobile phase at a flow rate of 40kPa. Good separation was obtained for the analyte. The calibration curves were obtained in the concentration range 1–32 ppm (v/v). The results showed a close correlation coefficient (R2 = 0.9998) for analyte in the calibration range studied. Detection limit of the method for methan was 0.08 ppmV. The mean spike recoveries from 95% to 97%. The reproducibility RSDs ranged from 3.5%. The results demonstrated the suitability of the GC - FID approach for the analysis methane emissions in rice fields of VietNam.
