Testing and improving capacity of Dung Quat Refinery using Aspen Hysys software

Abstract

Using Aspen Hysys software to evaluate capacity of Crude Distillation Unit ( CDU) of Dung Quat refinery. The characteristic parameters of Bach Ho crude oil (such as gas contents, density, curve distillation lines ....) were set up in Aspen Hysys similarly compared with practical operation. The operating conditions and the auxiliary equipments (evaporation furnace, stoves, heat exchangers ...) were installed sequentially as the real CDU of Dung Quat Refinery. Through assessing results on Aspen Hysys software, capacity of 6.5 million tons per year is almost absolute. Moreover, setting a primary distillation tower in CDU will increase the capacity of unit by 15%.
