Author Guidelines

1. Only scientific papers and research letters that are original contributions and have not been previously published elsewhere, in the areas of Economics and Development will be accepted. The Journal of Science also includes general articles or reviews and leading articles in this area that are written at the Editorial Council’s request.

2. Article Types and Requirements

Original Article: Research articles should present the results of an original research study. These manuscripts should describe how the research project was conducted and provide a thorough analysis of the results.

Length: 10 to 20 pages, including references, tables, and figures.

References: A minimum of 15 credible and up-to-date sources.

Review Article: These papers are published upon invitation only and should provide comprehensive coverage of the topic.

Length: Not exceeding 30 pages, including tables, figures, and references.

References: A minimum of 50 sources.

Editorials and Letters (or Short Reports) to Editors:

Length: 2 to 4 pages.

References: 5 to 10 sources.

3. Formatting and Layout: Papers must be prepared using Microsoft Word on standard-sized paper (19 cm × 27 cm) with 2 cm margins on all sides. The text should use the Unicode character set (font Palatino Linotype), size 10, with a line spacing of 1.15. Paragraph spacing should be set to 6 points before and 3 points after.

4. Equations, Figures, and Tables

Maths Equations: Must be written using MathType and numbered on the right side.

Images: Must be sharp, not exceeding 7 cm × 14 cm, and submitted in PNG, JPG, or WMF formats.

Titles: Figure titles must be placed under the figure, while table titles must be placed above the table. Figure and table numbers must be printed in bold.

Units: A space must be left between the numerical value and the unit symbol (e.g., 10 kg), except for the unit symbols for degree, minute, and second for plane angles (e.g., 180°).

5. Authors should provide an abstract and keywords in Vietnamese and English. Abstracts must have no more than 250 words and reflect the main content of the paper. The title of paper, name(s) of author(s), office(s), and abstract in Vietnamese should be placed at the beginning and their English version at the end of the paper. Keywords need to be present in the abstract and consist of 3 to 5 words or phrases.

6. References written in the languages other than Latin should be translated into a Latin one. From 2026, all references should be arranged following APA 7th Referencing and Citation Styles. Please see for examples:

Submissions must include at least 15 references, with journal articles accounting for a minimum of 80% of the total. All references should follow the APA 7th edition formatting guidelines. The use of reference management tools (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote) is highly recommended to ensure accuracy.

7. At the end of the paper, there should be full name(s) of author(s), academic title(s), academic degree(s), office(s), address(es), phone number(s), e-mail(s); name(s) of supervisor(s) (if the paper is parts of a thesis or a dissertation), and signature(s) of author(s). The corresponding author should be specified.

8. Papers should be directly submitted onto the Journal’s management system at jos.hueuni.edu.vn. All papers at Hue University Journal of Science are published electronically and have an online version available on the Journal’s website.

In order to carry out its functions as a journal, HUJOS-ED requires the names and affiliations of authors, along with the email addresses of corresponding authors. This information is used solely for the purposes of enabling authors to be identified as such.

None of your information is ever shared with a third party, or used outside of the aforementioned context.
