Abstract

We used the methods of primary and secondary data collection and statistical analysis to compare the data. The results show no change in the total natural area of the district despite the area adjustments of three wards in the district. Concerning to change in land use purposes, the agricultural land increased by 1,199.05 ha, and the non-agricultural also rose by 185,00 ha, resulting from the transformation from unused land. The land area managed by state agencies decreases and is transferred to other land users, thereby improving land use efficiency. The land-use change in Son Tra district is the cause of positive impacts on the growth and transformation of the economic structure as well as the labour, employment, and living environment of the residents. However, in the time to come, it is necessary to develop a land-use plan conforming to the aspect of sustainable development.
