Abstract

On the implementation level of the National Foreign Language Project for the period 2008–2020, now extended to 2025 in Vietnam, Level 3/6 – VNFLPF (B1 – CEFR) has been set as the learning outcome for non-English major students as a prerequisite to graduate from university. This paper reports the findings from an investigation into students’ perceptions of the learning outcomes and their difficulties in achivieving these by using survey questionnaire and interview. The findings show that non-English major students are not fully awared of the learning outcomes. Difficulties non-English major students faced are raised and suggestions are made to help them overcome these difficulties.
