Abstract

This study applied partial least square structural modelling (PLS-SEM) to address the impacts of human resources, customer relationships, firm’s reputation and innovation capacity on the competitive advantage and business performance of tea producers in Thua Thien Hue province. From the survey of 190 tea producers and data analysis by Smartpls, the study found that all those factors positively affect the firms’ cost advantage. Meanwhile, there is no significant relationship between 3 factors: human resources, reputation, innovation capacity and differentiation advantage. Moreover, the study indicated a positive relationship between cost leadership advantage and business performance, whereas the relationship between differentiation advantage and business performance is denied. The study also provides recommendations on increasing business performance for tea producers based on the research findings.
