Abstract

The study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing individual investor’s intention in stock markets during the COVID-19 pandemic based on the survey’s data of 525 individuals with interest and intention to invest in stock markets in Vietnam. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the hypotheses. The findings from the study indicated that (1) Covid - 19 Pandemic, (2) Risk Taking Propensity, (3) Attitude towards financial investment, (4) Finance Self Efficacy, and (5) Subjective Norms had a significant positive effect on individual investors' investment intention. Meanwhile, Financial Knowledge has a negative impact on investment intention. Based on the study’s empirical analysis, some implications were proposed to help securities enterprises on how to attract individual investors.
