CREDIT – BASED EDUCATION SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION: PERCEPTION AND EVALUATION FROM STUDENTS AND TEACHING STAFF

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the practice of CBS in Hue University College of Economics from students’ and lecturers’ perspectives. A multi-dimensional perception and multi-criteria evaluation approach were employed. The study results show that students and lecturers all well perceives the superiority of CBS. However, successful factors for CBS installation have not been synchronically present. This led to several difficulties in scheduling education and training activities as well as disseminating information among relevant stakeholders. On the other hand, the implementation of CBS has brought about positive changes in teaching methods, students’ performance appraisals which were comprehensively acknowledged by both lecturers and students. In order to promote the merits of CBS, the College should focus on: raising stakeholders’ awareness of the new system, improving and well-managing physical facilities and revising payment policies.
