Abstract

Fostering language abilities in general and coherent language in particular for children are essential tasks in the education of preschool children. The development of coherent language ability not only contributes to the formation, accumulation and expansion of knowledge but also help them communicating and learning actively. Initial research results of a survey of 120 preschool teachers in the Thua Thien Hue province showed that although most teachers were concerned about organizing experiential activities for children in kindergarten, they encountered many barriers in designing and methodically organizing the activities to enhance children’s coherent language in preschool. The design principles, the process of designing experiential activities and a specific example are provided in this article that could help preschool teachers have better orientation in developing coherent language for children in preschools.
