Abstract
The history of regulations concerning penalties for corruption crimes in Vietnam's criminal law and the direction for improvement in accordance with the spirit of the Party's 13th Congress are discussed in this article. The fight against corruption has always been a significant concern for the Party and the State throughout Vietnam's history. Therefore, at each National Party Congress, this issue is addressed and elaborated upon in documents. Most recently, the documents of the 13th National Party Congress provided comprehensive solutions for anti-corruption efforts. In this article, based on a study of the legal history of penalties for corruption crimes in Vietnam's criminal law and considering the current economic and social situation in the country, the author will propose directions for enhancing the regulations on penalties applicable to this group of criminals
