Social networks with content shared by tourists or users who have experienced tourism services are considered the primary source of information that forms the image of a tourism destination. Many studies have explored the relationship between user-generated content (UGC) and destination images. This article aims to review research on UGC and tourism destination images based on the bibliometric analysis method, analyzing data from 89 documents, including journal articles, conference proceedings, and book chapters obtained from the Scopus scientific database from 2010 to 2023. VOSviewer and Excel software are utilized to analyze the database. Co-citation and co-keyword analyses were performed to identify the foundation theory and the topic’s research directions. Among the findings, the article identifies that the research on UGC and destination images is still in its early stages; studies have mainly focused on content discovery, and there is still debate about the impact of UGC on tourism destination images.
