Abstract

The article employs bibliometric analysis, a systematic literature review, and VOSviewer software to assess the current state and development trends of research on the relationship between destination image, memorable tourism experience, and tourist-resident interaction impact on revisit intention to the destination. Based on 250 articles from the Scopus database covering the years 2010–2024, the study's findings, which are displayed in tables and visualizations, show a notable rise in the number of publications in the field, indicating a growing interest in comprehending the various interactions that occur between travelers and destinations. The nation having the most research on the subject is Malaysia. Additionally, content analysis highlights foundational theories, popular research models, validated relationships, methodologies, and research contexts. This allows for a summary of strengths and limitations to identify research gaps. The findings are significant in shaping future research directions.
