Abstract
This paper presents the results of a study on the effects of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on germination and some biochemical characteristics of Dai Thom 8 rice variety at the germination stage in the Winter-Spring crop 2017 - 2018 and Summer-Autumn crop 2018. The results showed that the treatment of rice seeds with silver nanoparticles at the germination stage significantly improved the germination rate of the seed, the length of raicle and plumule and reduced the mean germination time compared with the control. In addition, the exposure to AgNPs also significantly increased α-amylase, total soluble sugar content, catalase activity, and H2O2 content during seed germination. The results of this study were empirical evidence as the scientific basis for the application of AgNPs as a technique to improve seed germination and seedling growth.
