Abstract

On the basis of analyzing four pillars of competition law of the European Union, including legislation on the controls of anti-competitive agreements, abuse of market power, mergers and acquisitions and state aid, the article assesses the role of competition law in operating this world's most successful single market. Subsequently, the author focuses on proposing a system of synchronous solutions to take advantage of the European Union's experience in the task of building the internal market for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
