Abstract
Orhan Pamuk (born in 1952) is a prominent figure in contemporary world literature. His work focuses on reconstructing the historical and cultural backdrop of Istanbul, Turkey, showcasing the collisions, intersections, and dialogue among multiple cultures. This article delves deep into the theory of symbols and interprets the system of symbols constructed within Pamuk's novel A Strangeness in My Mind. The research findings illustrate Pamuk's adept use of artistic symbols as cultural signifiers, significantly guiding connections across realms of memory while enhancing openness and generating continuous meaning within the text. The interweaving of tradition and modernity, rich in provocation and dialogue, contributes to creating a chaotic, multidimensional reality, pushing individuals into a realm of strangeness, doubt, and indeterminacy.
