Abstract
Given the fact that current Vietnamese language textbooks for foreigners are compiled in either Northern or Southern dialects, how can foreign students studying Vietnamese in Hue apply their knowledge and Communicate effectively locally is a question frequently asked by Vietnamese language teachers for foreigners at University of foreign languages and international studies , Hue university. To contribute to solving the above problem, our research aims to investigate the use of Hue dialect in the field of buying and selling, which is the most common communication situation in life. From there, it helps foreign students to recognize the basic features of Hue dialect in terms of phonetics, vocabulary, sentence structure in daily business situations so that they can understand and achieve the purpose of communication; as well as help foreigners understand more about the richness and diversity of Vietnamese dialects
