Marketing trực tuyến là một trong những hoạt động quan trọng và phù hợp với xu hướng phát triển của thị trường trong giai đoạn cách mạng công nghệ 4.0 hiện nay. Nghiên cứu này xem xét khung nghiên cứu được đề xuất bởi Viggo Host và các cộng sự ([33] về đánh giá mức độ ứng dụng hoạt động marketing trực tuyến vào hoạt động kinh doanh của doanh nghiệp. Kết quả khảo sát 93 khách sạn (1-5 sao) trên địa bàn thành phố Huế cho thấy có 05 nhóm tác động đến việc ứng dụng marketing trực tuyến của các doanh nghiệp khách sạn bao gồm: kiến thức công nghệ thông tin, quy mô khách sạn, sự ủng hộ của cấp trên, sự chú trọng thị trường tương lai và sự tham gia của nhân viên vào hoạt động marketing trực tuyến. Trong đó, kiến thức công nghệ thông tin được xem là yếu tố quan trọng nhất và được các khách sạn đánh giá cao nhất trong các nhóm còn lại. Từ đó hàm ý quản lý và phát triển việc ứng dụng marketing trực tuyến của các khách sạn cũng được đề xuất nhằm góp phần nâng cao việc sử dụng hoạt động này trong tương lai.
