Abstract

Reading culture is one of the ways to improve the quality of education in schools. Reading books on the same field of long-term training will assist students in developing good specialised knowledge and increasing their ability to research, self-study, self-criticism, evaluation, positive thinking, and critical thinking.

This study highlights the characteristics of reading culture among undergraduate students in general and Hue University students in particular in the 4.0 era, the current state of the reading culture of Hue University students and proposes some solutions. It emphasises four major solutions: The coordination of stakeholders (including: State, University-leaders, Libraries and Teachers) and the promotion of reading culture; Building a system of subject resources as a solution to influence students' inner consciousness to form a reading orientation; Training information literacy for undergraduate students to adapt to 4.0; and Spreading reading inspiration in the students community of Hue University.
