Abstract
Euphemism is a flexible, easy-to-listen, and easy-to-feel way of speaking that is used in many forms of communication. The word for "disease and disability" (BTKT) is one of the specific groups of words, closely related to human psychology and emotions. Euphemisms help speakers express ideas fluently, delicately, and politely when talking about BTKT, bringing good results in communication. Through statistical methods, data analysis and comparison, the article highlights the similarities and differences between the words denoting BTKT in Chinese and Vietnamese in terms of structural mechanism, semantic function and cultural context; It also analyzes the use of euphemisms in referring to BTKT. Thereby, contributing to a deeper understanding of national euphemisms and secondary culture.
