Khả năng thu hút của điểm đến du lịch (destination attractiveness) là một khái niệm trung tâm trong nghiên cứu du lịch, có vai trò then chốt trong việc lý giải hành vi, động cơ và quyết định của du khách. Từ những năm 1960 đến nay, khái niệm này tiếp tục thu hút sự quan tâm rộng rãi của giới học thuật, đặc biệt trong bối cảnh du lịch cạnh tranh và phát triển mạnh mẽ. Khả năng thu hút của điểm đến không chỉ quyết định dòng khách mà còn là động lực tăng trưởng, nâng cao năng lực cạnh tranh và tối đa hóa lợi ích kinh tế – xã hội. Trên cơ sở phân tích nội dung từ các công trình công bố trên các tạp chí quốc tế uy tín, nghiên cứu này hệ thống hóa sáu cách tiếp cận chủ yếu trong nghiên cứu về khả năng thu hút điểm đến. Qua việc phân tích ưu – nhược điểm của từng hướng tiếp cận, nghiên cứu đề xuất một mô hình tích hợp mới nhằm bổ sung lý thuyết và nâng cao hiệu quả phân tích hiện tượng thu hút trong bối cảnh du lịch hiện đại.
